Set a quadrant time-management system:
For managing your time effectively, it is best to the right system to actually be able to do it. The most effective is the quadrant time management system in which you split your activities into four quadrants. These activities are based on urgency and importance. These are the activities that you most likely want to focus on and avoid all the distractions.
Audit your time:
It is important that you audit your time for knowing how you are spending it on your activities. Record your time in a journal or on your phone and split it into blocks of 30 minutes or an hour. You need to write what you have been able to get done and if your time has been wasted or well spent.
Do MITs in the morning:
Some people avoid doing the most important tasks at the start of the day. But according to Mark Twain, if it is your job to eat a frog then it is best to do it first thing in the morning. But if it’s your job to eat two frogs, then you better go with the bigger one first. This means that you must tackle your biggest and most difficult tasks in the mornings and once you do that, it will set the momentum for the rest of the day.
Use the 80/20 rule:
By using the Pareto Principle, you can get most of your work done without getting distracted. The Pareto Principle in sales is defined as that 80 percent of the sales come from 20 percent of the customers. Therefore, identify the 20 percent of the efforts that produce 80 percent of the outcome.
